A British colony, Turks and Caicosis made up of seven main islands and 40 smaller islands and mostly uninhabited cays. The islands of Providenciales and Grand Turkare the two most-populated islands and have recently experienced a tremendous growth in tourism, with Providenciales being voted the Traveler’s Choice 2015 #”1 Best Island in the World”. There is an International airport on Providenciales, which provides easy access to Turks and Caicos from anywhere in the world. The climate is perfect for enjoying the sapphire seas, at between 85-90 degrees from June through October and 80 to 84 degrees from November through May. Enjoy snorkeling through the brilliant coral reefs, deep-sea diving, or whale-watching at Mouchoir of Silver Banks. Dine on local conch, and visit the many historical sites and national parks to learn about the fascinating history and abundant wildlife on the islands.
